GP sets up skill dev centre, CIC at Apongaon

GrameenPhone Ltd. inaugurated a skill development centre and GrameenPhone Community Information Centre (CIC) at Apongaon, a drug rehabilitation centre at Singair, Manikganj recently, said a press release.
Member of Parliament SM Abdul Mannan was present at the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest. Upazilla Chairman of Singair Mushfiqur Rahman Hannan, Chief Communications Officer of GrameenPhone Rubaba Dowla, Vice-chairman, Executive Committee of APON Isodhor Gomes and Executive Director of Apongaon Brother Ronald Drahozal were present on the occasion.
GrameenPhone has provided the financial support for the construction of the centre. The centre will select boys and girls to train on different skills.
GrameenPhone has also established a computerised information centre on the Apongaon premises which will serve as an alternative income source for the NGO.
