\\\'GP Smartphone and Tab Exposition\\\' begins tomorrow

Almost 90 per cent mobile phone users in the country do not have the smartphone access, resulting low internet penetration, industry insiders said.
Presently 4.0 million smartphone are being used in Bangladesh, facilitating around 10 per cent mobile phone users have the access to such advance device, they said.
"However, growth of such communication device is very auspicious as the nation witnessed nearly 300 per cent whopping growth during the last fiscal," Director of Symphony Rezanul Haque said, while he was speaking a press briefing in the city on Wednesday.
According to the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) until October last, the country has 44.08 million active internet subscribers.
Expo Maker arranged the press conference on the eve of the three-day 'Grameenphone Smartphone and Tab Exposition' scheduled to be started tomorrow (Friday) at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.
Expo Maker is the organiser of the exhibition and the leading telecom service provider Grameenphone will be the title sponsor.
Number of leading computer and mobile phone manufacturers including Samsung, Symphony, Lenevo, Huawei and Accer will take part at the exhibition and offer discount prices.
"Visitors will be able to buy products through comparison with other similar products of other brands as the many leading brands will display their products," said Nahid Hasan Siddique, coordinator of the exposition told the conference.
Managing director of Smart Technologies, the distributor of Samsung IT products, Md Jahirul Islam told the conference that they will present around 11 products at the fair where the buyers will get 20 per cent discount.
