GP to sponsor int'l children's painting contest

The Grameenphone Zainul-Quamrul International Children's Painting Competition-2007, organised by Gandaria Kachi-Kachar Mela, was launched at a press conference in the city Tuesday.
Gandaria Kachi-Kachar Mela Director Md Shafiur Rahman Dulu formally launched the competition at a press conference at the GP head office in the city.
GP Chief Marketing Officer Stein Naevdal was present on the occasion as the special guest. For the 3rd time GP has been sponsoring this prestigious international children's painting competition.
The competition is open to children aged between three and 16 years. Entries will be accepted till November 30. The prize distribution ceremony, followed by a three-day exhibition, will be held at the Bangladesh National Museum in the first week of December.
The paintings will also be put on display at Kachi-Kachar Mela's own gallery from March 26 to March 31, 2008. The web address of the competition is www.ap-zainulguamrul-bd.com.
This year the top 88 winners will receive special awards from GP. Four winners will be awarded with gold medals.
The international painting competition is being organised for the 6th time. The competition takes place every two years. In 2005, more than 4000 children from 30 countries took part in the competition.
