Grain silo collapses in Ohio

Friday, 3 December 2010

NORWALK, Ohio, Dec 2 ( Commodity Online): A grain silo collapsed and spewed 120,000 bushels of corn into an Ohio town, knocking a house off its foundation and bringing down power lines, officials said.
No injuries were reported in the Tuesday incident although firefighters in Norwalk, Ohio, said they couldn't be sure yet as they were still using backhoes to sift through corn 10 feet deep in places, the Sandusky (Ohio) Register reported.
"Almost everyone is accounted for," Norwalk fire Capt. Bill Knadler said Tuesday evening. "We're still trying to get through what we can get through."
