Grameenphone, BTEB sign agreement

Grameenphone Ltd signed an agreement with the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) to facilitate capacity development for the rural masses, says a press release.
Under the terms of the agreement Grameenphone Community Information Centres (CIC) will provide BTEB certified computer training in the rural areas. It is one of the first public-private partnerships for CIC.
Grameenphone has established more than 500 CIC across the country. CIC contribute significantly towards capacity development of the rural mass through different computer training programmes promoting ICT 4D.
The BTEB, an autonomous organisation, is playing an important role in human resource development. It has a role in setting quality standard, quality control and development of technical education in the country.
Director of marketing division of Grameenphone Ltd Rubaba Dowla and Chairman of BTEB Nitai Chandra Sutradhar signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations. Officials of both the organisations were also present on the occasion, among others.
