Grand-rally to be peaceful: Fakhrul

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said they don't have any plan to stage any sit-in protests after the party's grand rally in Dhaka on October 28.
He also said Sunday that their grand-rally in the capital will be peaceful.
He came up with the observations at a press briefing Sunday after joint meeting of the party that discussed preparations on the grand-rally at the party's Naya Paltan office in the city.
"Our grand rally on 28th October in the capital will be peaceful. Our leaders and activists from across the country will participate in the rally", Fakhrul said.
"We have not instructed any of our party leaders and activists to gather and stay in Dhaka. After the programme, everyone will go back and await the next event" he said
He also called upon police personnel not to create any obstructions to BNP leaders and activists from their participation in the rally.
Mr Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the present government was using law-enforcing agencies and the courts just to remain in power.
"We all the opposition political parties have been on the movement with a demand that the government must resign immediately and hold national elections under a neutral caretaker government," he stated.
Meanwhile chief of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Mohammad Harun- or- Rashid said that there was no security concern centering BNP's grand rally on 28th October.
There is no threat of sabotage, he further said Sunday.
Already law enforcement agencies have set up check-posts at the entry points of the capital to prevent any untoward incident by the outsiders, he while speaking at a press briefing held at DMP media center.
