Ashikur Rahman said he began cultivating grapes in his orchard 1.5 years ago after watching about it on YouTube and ordered a few trees from Dinajpur online. He has inspired other young people in his area with his success.
"Now I have 36 high-yielding varieties of grape fruit trees, including Baikunur and Supernova, in my orchard.
I have sold the grapes from the garden at a price of Tk 300 to 350 per kg.
I have plans to grow grapes on a larger scale in the future," he added.
Although, production of grapes is the highest in winter, the fruit is produced year-round and the prices are also good.
