WARREN Buffett, one of the richest persons in the world at this time, started to work from the age 11. He started his business at the age of 14. He has utilised the best of his time all his life and today he is famous and an inspiring figure for many of the people on this earth.
If any student follows the example of Warren Buffett and starts towards working for his or her career from an early age, he or she is sure to succeed. Working everyday towards becoming what one wants to be in life will surely help one be successful in life.
Students can work towards their goals in life from an early age. By the time they are in class seven or class eight, they can understand about various professions and can decide about career/ aim in life. By the time they are in first year of university, they must be determined about their goal in life. They can work for their career everyday, may be 15 minutes at least. When they will do so on regular basis, they will not forget about their aims in life. They will even be more concerned and caring about their studying their texts of the current class. They will get more interest in studying the text compared to those who have not yet fixed their aim about what they want to be.
A student who wants to join Bangladesh Civil Service should start reading English, mathematics, general knowledge and other relevant subject for their preparation for BCS exam, which is getting competitive day by day. They can start studying these subjects seriously from the first year. It is very common to see that students waste their valuable time in adda (gossiping), watching television, mixing with their new friends in the first year. But they need to spend their time in a constructive manner so that they are well prepared and can perform very well in the competitive exam.
Students who want to do MBA should also start preparing themselves from the first year honours days. They must have books on GMAT, GRE and read them regularly. Those who want to go abroad for higher studies should also prepare themselves in the same manner. If necessary, tthey can go to some educational institutes that prepare students in these areas.
Some students might think that they will read just before the competitive exams and they will do good in these. The reality is all the career-exams assess one's good knowledge of the subjects. One cannot achieve good knowledge of the subject in a very short time. Some may succeed in these exams with short preparation, but their cases should not be example for all. For ensuring success in this competitive exams, students should be alert from the beginning of the first year.
If students do not have good knowledge of the relevant subjects, they can surely expect to get required knowledge by studying them for a few years. They can go to the exam hall confident and perform well. Longer time efforts will definitely pay off for them.
