Green Delta Ins achieves high growth in 6 months

Green Delta Insurance Company Ltd, a leading non-life insurance company in the private sector, achieved high growth during the first six months of the current calendar year.

The half yearly report published this week showed that the company earned net profit of Tk. 161.82 million in the half year ended on June 30 this year as against Tk. 69.80 million of the corresponding period of the previous year.

The gross premium income rose to Tk. 525.05 million during this time from Tk. 392.76 million resulting in 33.68 per cent growth. The net premium income also rose to Tk. 227.82 million as against Tk 178.23 million in the previous year showing 27.82 per cent growth.

High premium income and operating profit resulted in substantial earning for the company's shareholders. The earning per share during the first half of the current year stood at Tk. 79.28 from Tk. 46.16 during the same period in the previous year.

The company's total cash flows from operating activities declined to Tk. 67.57 million in the first six months of the current year from Tk. 108.56 million in the previous year. Total cash flows from investment activities came down to Tk. 73.44 million during the period from Tk. 90.89 million in the previous year.

Meanwhile, the half yearly performance of the Green Delta Financial Services Ltd, showed that its net profit rose to Tk. 12.76 million from Tk. 3.33 million in the previous year.
