Green Delta Ins launches new subsidiary

Green Delta Insurance Company Ltd (GDIC), leading non-life insurer in the country, has launched its fourth subsidiary -- GD Assist Ltd-- aiming to provide value added services in healthcare, facilitating to back up the insurance industry.
GD Assist was formally launched at a city hotel Thursday.
The new company will render all out supports to its customers in taking treatment in five leading hospitals in Malaysia, officials said.
Its healthcare services include consultancy, VISA processing, ticketing to admission in hospitals, accommodation, transportation and payment transfer through banks.
The launching ceremony was addressed, among others, by Nasir A Choudhury, advisor and founder managing director (MD) of GDIC and chairman of GD Assist, Farzana Chowdhury, MD and chief executive officer (CEO) of Green Delta Insurance and director of GD Assist, Wafi S M Khan, CEO of its another subsidiary Green Delta Securities Ltd, Syed Moinuddin Ahmed, DMD and secretary of the insurance company, and Mushfiqul Fazal Ansari, media adviser of GDIC.
GD Assist will provide the value added services with concentration on healthcare services, logistics support, global emergency and medical evacuation services in Malaysia, facilitating to back up the country's insurance industry.
In this connection, GD Assist already teamed up with five leading hospitals in Malaysia, he said.
The five Malaysian hospitals are Prince Court Medical Center, Ramsay Sime Darby, Sundway Medical Center, KPJ Healthcare, Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) and HSC Medical Center.
Citing that cost of healthcare services in Malaysia is comparatively lower than that of Singapore and Bangkok, Mr Nasir A Choudhury said sought cooperation from all concerned to provide better services under the new subsidiary.
Ms Farzana Chowdhury said that in the developed country, such value added services in the insurance sector are there for many days. "Now, we are going towards the value added services in Bangladesh."
Any people irrespective of policy holders of Green Delta and others can take services from the GD Assist, an official said, adding that the services will help to sell the insurance products.
With the tagline "services beyond borders," the new company aims at brining the world class value added services at the people's doorsteps, officials said.
The new subsidiary of GDIC will act as a one-stop solution for all the healthcare facilities one needs while travelling aboard for this purpose, they added.
