Green Delta Ins net income up by 45pc

The net income of Green Delta Insurance Company Limited (GDIC), one of the leading private non-life insurance companies, rose by 45.78 per cent, a Tk 85.41 million up from January to September this year compared to the same period last year, company sources said.
From January to September this year the company has gained Tk 271.95 million net income while the company in the same period last year earned Tk 186.54 million net income.
Meanwhile from January to September this year net premium of the company also increased by 54.78 per cent or Tk 221.99 million up compared to the same period last year.
The company gained Tk 627.02 million net premium in the said period this year whereas in the same period last year its net premium was Tk 405.03 million.
Net claims of first nine months this year also marked a whopping 131.12 per cent or Tk 128.69 million up but in the same period last year net claims were worth Tk 55.68 million.
Reinsurance premium has also increased this year. Reinsurance premium this year from January to September has been Tk 686.76 million with a 24.96 per cent rise but this premium was Tk 549.57 million in first nine months of last year.
The company this year has recorded investment income by 55.43 per cent rise or worth Tk 257.87 million but the company last year gained Tk 165.90 million investment income.
Nasir A Choudhury, managing director of GDIC, told the FE that as the company is providing better services, its net income has increased and the income in future will be accelerated.
