Grocer chopped to death in city

A grocer was chopped to death in Dhaka's Mohammadpur area on Sunday night. The deceased was identified as Sohel Rana, 24, son of Abdul Mannan. Sources at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) said a gang of miscreants, equipped with sharp weapons, swooped on Sohel in front of ‘Four Brothers Garment’ in Dhaka Udyan Residential area around 11.00pm. The attackers hacked him indiscriminately, leaving him injured critically. He was rescued and whisked off to the DMCH where the doctor declared him dead, according to a news agency.
