Growers eyeing good yield of early cultivated cauliflower

RANGPUR, Oct 07: The early cultivated cauliflower growers under the district are expecting an abundant yield of their produce during this season due to congenial weather condition.
Sources said the farmers are earning good profit through the sale of early cultivated vegetables in recent years which have made them eager to enhance its cultivation this season.
Shahidul Islam, a grower of the early cauliflower at Ranipukur area in Mithapukur upazila said he prefers farming vegetables due to high profit in comparison with many other crops.
He cultivated early cauliflower on one bigha of land this season.
During last few years he has been getting a good yield as well as handsome profit from farming of the vegetable, he also said.
Motaleb mia, another early cauliflower grower of Nabdiganj village under Pirgachha upazila said a good number of farmers of his area are showing their interest in the farming of early varieties of vegetables than the cultivation of other crops owing to huge profit.
He has cultivated early cauliflower on 40 decimals of land this season, he further said.
Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), Rangpur official sources said owing to good profit the farmers of the region are getting interested to cultivate different early varieties of vegetables including cauliflower in recent years.
The department has taken various steps including timely supply of necessary agri-inputs and advices to increase production of vegetables including cauliflower across the region.
Early harvest also ensures a good price of the produce, sources added.
