GSK, CARE top officials due Tuesday

Monday, 7 September 2015

Ramil Burden, Vice President (Developing Countries Asia and External Affairs Africa) of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Laurie Lee, CEO of CARE International, UK arrive in Dhaka on Tuesday to see development projects and launch a new project. They will reach in the morning and go to Sunamganj to launch the GSK-CARE partnership project (third phase), said an official here on Monday. The new programme replicates, deepens and expands on the work done over the last three years in Sunamganj, he said. The project will show the impact and scale they can achieve with their reinvestment in terms of improving access through a public-private partnership as well as the leadership as a responsible private sector organisation working in the country. This partnership project will also demonstrate the strength of partnership between GSK, CARE and the public sector in Bangladesh as well as the sustainability and innovation generated in the programme, according to a news agency.
