GTCL earns pre-tax profit of Tk 2.84b

The Gas Transmission Company Limited (GTCL) has announced a pre-tax profit of Tk 2.84 billion (Tk 284.09 crore) and earned Tk 4.18 billion (Tk 418.61 crore) revenue in 2008-09 fiscal year.
The year's profit was 4.01 per cent higher than the previous fiscal year. The company's earning came from transporting 1325.115 million cubic-meter gas and 277 million (2769.96 lakh) liter condensed petroleum, GTCL office said.
The transported quantity of gas and condensate was 7.89 and 18.82 per cent higher respectively than the fiscal year 2007-08, a press release announced.
It was declared in the company's 16th annual general meeting recently, which was chaired by Petrobangla chairman and chairman of board of directors Professor Dr M Hossain Mansur. Shareholders of the company were also present at the meeting.
It was also announced that the company has managed to deposit Tk 2.27 billion (Tk 227.11 crore) to the state coffer after paying all state taxes and VATs'.
