Gunfight in Munshiganj, cop found dead

One cop was found dead and three policemen were injured in the Meghna river after a shootout with pirates in Munshiganj in the early hours of Wednesday. Munshiganj's Superintendent of Police Md Habibur Rahman told bdnews24.com that fires were exchanged between a patrol of river police and pirates around 2am. Constable Malek was shot and fell into the river during the gunfight. The other three policemen on the patrol boat were also injured. None of the pirates could be arrested, but the boat they used was recovered with booty and some crude weapons.
