Gunmen wound goldsmith in old town

An armed gang barged into a goldsmith's workplace at Goalnagar in the old town and opened fire on the son of the owner, leaving him fatally wounded Sunday afternoon, police said.
Witnesses said five to six youngmen, aged between 15 and 17, equipped with firearms went inside Ratan Swarna Bitan and opened fire on Suman Karmaker (28), son of the jeweller, Ratan Karmaker, before looting valuables at about 3:40pm.
Suman was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital from where he was shifted to Apollo Hospitals Dhaka as his condition deteriorated, a Sub-Inspector of Kotwali police station told the FE.
