Gunshot victim dies at DMCH

He was rushed to DMCH critically injured on Nov 22

A youth who sustained bullet injuries in an attack by miscreants on November 22 in the capital's Jurain area died early Wednesday while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
The deceased, Shahin Bepari, 26, passed away around 1:30am at the hospital's One-Stop Emergency Centre. He was brought to DMCH in critical condition at around 6:15pm on Saturday after being rescued with gunshot wounds.
Shahin worked at a furniture shop in the Jurain area and lived in a rented house near Chairman Bari.
According to family members, Shahin was shot in the back of the head near Chairman Bari. The attackers fled immediately after the shooting, leaving him critically injured.
"My brother was called over and attacked by four to five people who shot him in the head with a pistol. We demand proper justice for this murder," said Saddam Bepari, Shahin's brother.
He also alleged that those who brought Shahin to the hospital might have been involved in the attack. Mr Saddam added that their ancestral home is in Keshabpur village under Sadar Upazila of Shariatpur district.
Inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the DMCH police camp, confirmed Shahin's death. "The body has been kept at the DMCH morgue, and the concerned police station has been informed," he said.
