Habiganj-1 seat declared vacant

The Habiganj-1 (Nabiganj-Bahubal) constituency has been declared vacant, implying a bi-election within 90 days, reports bdnews24.com.
Parliament Secretariat Thursday made the declaration through a circular, following the death of the parliamentarian of the constituency and ruling Awami League's advisory council member Dewan Farid Gazi, on November 19.
The circular, signed by Additional Secretary Pranab Charaborty, declared the constituency vacant after Mr Gazi had died.
Election Commissioner Md Sohul Hossain on November 21 told journalists that a bi-election would be held within 90 days after the gazette of vacancy was published.
Another bi-election is to be held in Brahmanbaria-3 (Sadar) constituency as the parliamentarian of the constituency and Awami League leader Lutful Hai Sachchu, passed away on November 22.
