Habiganj crash death toll stands at 7

The death toll stood at 7 in a road crash that occurred in Shayestaganj Upazila in Habiganj district on Tuesday. Earlier, five persons were killed and 11 others injured in the incident. The deceased were identified as Nauban Bibi, wife of Harichh Mia of Rahmatpur village under Baniachang Upazila, their daughter Ambia Khatun, Maksud Mia of Osmanpur village under Chunarughat Upazila, Mujibur Rahman and Mamun of Kazirgaon village under Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila, Ahmadul Huq of Pahar Barshijora area and Yusuf Ali of Srimangal Upazila. Police and witnesses said a rashly-driven truck rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw, instantly killing five passengers of the auto-rickshaw and injuring 11 other people on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in Sutang area around 7:30am. Locals rescued the injured and rushed them to Habiganj Sadar Adhunik Hospital where two critically injured persons died at night, according to a news agency.
