Hafizur Rahman Academy emerge zonal champions

Bir Muktijoddha Shaheed Hafizur Rahman Oli Academy clinched the zonal titles of both the boys' and girls' groups in Meizan National School Kabaddi competition beating their rivals in the finals at the Kabaddi Stadium in the city Sunday, reports UNB. Bir Muktijoddha Shaheed Hafizur Rahman Oli Academy won the boys' zonal crown beating Shaheed Nabi High School by 10-9 points in tie-breaker as the zonal final between the two teams was locked 48-48 in the scheduled time. In the girls group, Bir Muktijoddha Shaheed Hafizur Rahman Oli Academy clinched the zonal title beating Bhasha Shaheed Abdul Jabbar Ansar and VDP School by 45-30 points in the final with two creditable `lona'. Habibur Rahman Mollah, MP, was the chief guest in the day's zonal finals and distributed the prizes. Assistant Brand Manager of the meet's sponsors Bangladesh Edible Oil Limited Syed Mohammad Zubair was present as special guest. Earlier, in the boy's zonal semifinals on Saturday, Shaheed Hafizur Rahman Oli Academy defeated Maniknagar Model High School by 56-54 points with two `lona' while Shaheed Nabi High School eliminated Haider Ali High School by 51-16 points with four `lona'. In the girls' zonal semis on the same day, Hafizur Rahman Oli Academy beat Maniknagar Model High School by 42-29 points with four `lona' while Bhasha Shaheed Abdul Jabbar Ansar and VDP School beat JB Memorial Academy by 48-38 points with two `lona'.
