Hajj flight from Sunday: Biman to fly 51,000 pilgrims to KSA

National flag carrier Biman is set to carry 51,000 Hajj pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through 145 direct flights on Dhaka-Jeddah-Dhaka route. The first flight will take off with 419 pilgrims from Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport at 8:35am on Sunday (August 16). Meanwhile, the Biman Bangladesh Airlines completed all kinds of preparations to conduct the flights without any hassle. This year, 101,758 pilgrims are expected to go from Bangladesh to perform Hajj in Saudi Arabia. The Hajj is expected to be held on September 22, if new crescent moon of the Jilhajj month is sighted. However, the last flight to Saudi Arabia is scheduled to take off at 10:15am on September 17 with VIP passengers. The return flights will run from September 28 to October 7, according to a news agency.
