Hajj flights from Aug 16

Flights to carry Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia will begin on August 16 and continue till September 18 this year. The return Hajj flights will begin on September 27 and continue till October 28, according to the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry. A total of 101,758 pilgrims are expected to perform Holy Hajj from Bangladesh this year. The number of Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims was 98,762 last year. Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the national flag carrier, will carry half of the Hajj passengers while Saudi Arabian airlines the remaining ones. The Hajj pilgrims will have to carry ‘Zamzam’ water from Saudi Arabia as Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Saudi airlines will supply it to them at Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport in Dhaka. This year, each pilgrim will be allowed to carry 32-kg luggage and 7kg handbag, according to a news agency.
