Halal meat exporters to get 20pc incentives

Halal processed meat-product exporters from now on will enjoy 20 per cent cash incentives from the government.
Earlier, only halal meat exporting sector was enjoying the facilities, according to a circular, issued by the Bangladesh Bank on Monday.
According to the circular, 100 per cent halal meat and processed meat products will avail the cash subsidy on export earnings for fiscal year 2022-23.
On the other hand, support for fresh products/ new markets (apparel sector) expansion to different destinations will receive 4.0 per cent incentive, except USA, Canada, EU and UK.
The benefits of cash subsidy for other sectors will remain unchanged, the circular added.
