\\\'Halting movement after Jan-5 elections a mistake\\\'

Wednesday, 12 November 2014

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has said they made a mistake by halting their anti-government movement just after the January-5 elections. ‘It was our wrong decision to stop the movement after the January-5 elections,’ a BNP join secretary general quoted Khaleda as telling a meeting she held with her party’s vice-chairmen and joint secretaries general at her Gulshan office on Tuesday night. He said Khaleda made the remark as some of her party leaders said that the current regime has become confident that it will be able to hang onto power without giving any election as BNP has failed to mount pressure on it for a fresh national election by stopping its movement after the Jan-5 election. The BNP Chairperson also said their decision to join the 2008 national election was wrong, too, and lamented that no senior leader at that time did oppose this flawed move, according to UNB.
