Hamid Fabrics flies high

Hamid Fabrics Limited, a textile maker, posted a steep gain Thursday in its debut on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE).
The stock closed at Tk 56.1 each, registering an increase of 60.28 per cent from its issue price of Tk 35 in the premier bourse.
Each share of the company was traded between Tk 69 and Tk 55 on the DSE before closing at Tk 56.1. A total of around 8.19 million shares changed hands during the four hour trading session.
In the port city bourse - CSE, each share of the company traded between Tk 69 and Tk 55 and closed at Tk 55.5, gaining 58.57 per cent from its issue price of Tk 35. A total of 2.17 million shares changed hands in CSE.
It was also the day's most traded stock at the prime bourse and the port city bourse with shares worth Tk 499.61 million and Tk 131.20 million changing hands respectively.
Hamid Fabrics is the 37th listed company in the textile sector in the DSE that accounts for around 5 per cent of the total market capitalisation.
