Hamid, Hasina hail countrymen on Eid

President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina hve greeted the countrymen as well as the Muslims across the world on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the greatest festival of Muslims. In separate messages on the eve of the holy Eid, they prayed for continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country and the Muslim Ummah. In his message, President Abdul Hamid said, ‘I extend my greetings and good wishes to the countrymen and all the people in the world on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.’ The President said the rich and the poor and the elite and the common masses share the happiness of Eid together. He hoped that the teachings of Eid-ul-Fitr would encourage all to build a beautiful and prosperous society. In her message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called upon all to reflect the teachings of Eid-ul-Fitr in personal, social and national lives. ‘After the month-long self-restraint, Eid has brought the message of happiness,’ she said, adding, ‘Eid teaches peace, sense of fellow feeling and fraternity.’ She prayed to Almighty Allah for continued peace, progress and welfare of the county and the Muslim Ummah, according to a news agency.
