Hamid, Hasina mourn ex-Turkey president Demirel\\\'s death

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have mourned the death of Turkey’s former president Süleyman Demirel. In his message to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President Hamid said, "It’s with great sorrow that I’ve learned the passing away of Süleyman Demirel. On behalf of the people of Bangladesh and on my own behalf, I express my heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy to you, and through you, to the bereaved family members of President Demirel and to the people of the Republic of Turkey." In a separate message to her Turkish counterpart Prof Dr Ahmet Davutoglu, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said she is deeply saddened at the passing away of great leader Süleyman Demirel. On behalf of the people and the government of Bangladesh and on my own behalf, I would like to convey my deepest condolences to the brotherly people and the government of the Republic of Turkey," she said. Hasina said Süleyman’s death is not only a great loss to the people of Turkey, but Bangladesh also has lost a great friend, according to a news agency.
