Hamid heading to UK for treatment

President Abdul Hamid is going to the United Kingdom for nine days for an eye treatment and health check-up. The President will depart in a regular Bangladesh Biman flight this (Sunday) adfternoon. President Hamid, who is 70-year old, has been suffering from glaucoma for a long time. While he was the Speaker in the ninth Jatiya Sangsad (parliament), Hamid regularly travelled to Singapore for treatment. He also received treatment in Singapore after he took over as president of Bangladesh in April 2013. He last went to Singapore in April this year. The President will leave London for home on August 25, according to a news agency.
