Hamid visits dev projects in his home dist

President Abdul Hamid on Wednesday visited development projects at Mithamoin and Ashtagram upazilas in his home district. Accompanied by Communications Minister Obaidul Quader, Abdul Hamid visited the 15-km long Ujanpur-Bajitpur-Ashtagram highway at Kastal union in Ashtagram in an easy bike. Impressed by the works, the President said, “I just can’t believe such a beautiful road has been constructed alongside the haor.” The road will link the remote vast haor areas of Ashtagram to other parts of the country via Bajitpur. Roads and Highways Department is implementing the project involving Tk 1.34 billion. So far, 13.5 km out of 15 km of the highway has been completed and the rest to be finished by next month, according to a news agency.
