Supporters of BNP leader Ishraque Hossain reiterated on Saturday their demand for handing over the mayoral responsibility of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) to him without any further delay.
They placed the demand on the third day of their sit-in programme at Nagar Bhaban in the capital.
They also declared the local government, rural development and cooperatives ministry adviser, Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, and secretary of the ministry, Rezaul Maksud Jahedi, as persona non-grata at the Nagar Bhaban.
The temporary office of the ministry is now at Nagar Bhaban, from where the adviser discharges his official duties.
But adviser Asif did not go to his office (at Nagar Bhaban) over the last three days due to the ongoing sit-in programme of Ishraque Hossain followers.
Earlier the Election Commission issued a gazette declaring Ishraque Hossain as mayor of DSCC following the court verdict.
But until today (Saturday), the Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Ministry has not taken any move for swearing-in of Ishraque Hossain as the mayor.
Ishraque Hossain's supporters under the banner of Dhakabshi Platform' is observing their sit-in programme, led by former Senior Secretary Moshiur Rahman.
Mr Moshiur Rahman said that the city dwellers of Dhaka will hold a rally today (Sunday) for realising their demand.
