Hanging body of Amar Desh Barisal bureau chief recovered

Police on Friday night recovered the hanging body of GM Babar Ali, the Barisal bureau chief of the ‘Dainik Amar Desh’ from a house in Patuakhali. Babar Ali, 56, was a former general secretary of Barisal Press Club. He is survived by his two wives and three sons and a host of relatives, colleagues and friends. Police said Babar Ali went to the residence of his second wife Jharna Begum yesterday. The couple had an altercation over family matter. Later, the husband and the wife had heated exchange. Babar Ali reportedly committed suicide by hanging following the incident, they said. Mohammad Monirul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Patuakhali Sadar Police Station (PS), said Babar Ali's body was recovered from a house in Patuakhali and sent to the Sadar Hospital for autopsy. A UD case was filed with Patuakhali Sadar PS, he added, according to a news agency.
