Hannan kills 2.0m rats in croplands in 20 yrs

MAGURA, Mar 31: Carpenter Abdul Hannan of Baro Khari village under Magura Sadar is well-known across the district for killing rats by his own invented machine.
He said most of the croplands of his village are now rats free.
Hannan said he wants to save all the croplands across the district from rats.
Cultivators from different areas in the district start hiring Abdul Hannan for killing rats in their crop fields.
Hannan said, "I achieved a national award in 2010 for killing 0.19 million rats and other award in 2011 for killing 0.23 rats. I have killed about 2.0 million rats during the last 20 years."
Abdush Selim of Barakhari village under Magura Sadar said, "We call Hannan frequently to kill rats in cropland. Moreover, Hannan lend his rat-killing instrument to the villagers free of cost."
Hannan said, "I do not consider rat killing as a profession. To me, it is a contribution to the society."
Magura DAE official Shohrab Hossen said rat causes extreme harm to our crop and food grains. On an average a rat takes 27 gram food per day.
A huge amount of food gains is destroyed every year by rats.
The official highly appreciated Hannan for his initiative.
