Hartal continues slackly

Thursday, 6 February 2014

The nationwide dawn-to-dusk hartal, called by Jamaat-e-Islami, is progressing slackly in Dhaka city as elsewhere in the country on Thursday. No major untoward incident was reported from the capital or any other part of the country till 11am. The city dwellers came out in streets and performed their daily works as usual since early in the morning. Almost all modes of transports were plying in Dhaka and other cities across the country. Jamaat called the 6am to 6pm hartal protesting the death sentence pronounced by a special court against its Ameer Maulana Matiur Rahman Nizami in the Chittagong 10-truck arms haul case, according to UNB.
