Hartal supporters explode bombs in Sylhet

Suspected hartal supporters exploded some powerful bombs in Sylhet on Sunday during the 2nd round of 48-hour general strike called by Jamaat-Shibir demanding the release of war crimes convict Delwar Hossain Sayedee. However, no injury was reported in the bomb explosions happened in Sylhet city’s Dorgar Gate area around 6:30am. Sylhet police’s Additional Deputy Commissioner Rahmat Ullah said they suspected that the activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir exploded the bombs in the area. Earlier, the activists of the local unit of Jamaat-Shibir took out processions from Dorgar Gate and tried to block the road towards the airport, However, they left the area before police arrived, according to a news agency.
