Hartal underway in 3 Satkhira upazilas

A daylong hartal, called by local unit of Jamaat-e-Islami protesting ‘irregularities’ in the 5th phase upazila polls, is progressing in lacklustre manner at three upazilas of Satkhira district on Tuesday. The uapzilas are Debhata, Satkhira Sadar and Tala. The district unit Jamaat announced the hartal (shutdown) programme at a press briefing in the town on Monday afternoon. No major untoward incident was reported as of 11:00 am, according to UNB.
