A.T.M. Harun-Ur-Rashid Chowdhury has joined Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd. (AIBL) as additional managing director (AMD) on November, 2007. Prior to his new assignment he was the deputy executive president of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd.
ATM Harun-Ur-Rashid Chowdhury did his B.A. (Hons.) and M. A. in History from Dhaka University in 1967 and 1968 respectively. He started his banking career in Pubali Bank as a probationary officer in 1971. In September 1986, he Joined Islami Bank as a Probationary Officer in 1971. In September 1986, he Joined Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd. as assistant executive vice president while he was working as assistant general manager of Pubali Bank, Sadarghat Corporate branch. In his long tenure of service, he held various responsible positions in Pubali Bank and Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd including branch manager and head of zonal office. He worked in various divisions of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd. in the capacity of vice president, senior vice president, executive vice president and lastly as the chief of Investment Wing in the capacity of deputy executive president.
