Hasan terms proposed budget as pro-poor

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Thursday termed the proposed budget for 2022-23 fiscal as pro-poor, saying the budget will encourage internal production, reports BSS.
In an instant reaction to the proposed budget, Hasan said the prices have gone up all over the world including the USA and Europe due to war and in this perspective no one knows when the ongoing worldwide economic recession will come to an end. For this, the internal production has been emphasized, he added.
The minister said the coverage of social safety net in the budget has been increased as the lower-income people would get security.
The budget is pro-poor, said Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary.
He heavily came down on those people who are criticizing the budget. BNP, some political parties, organizations and intellectuals criticize the budget after placing it every time, he added.
