Hashem sued for land grabbing

GAZIPUR, June 4 (UNB): A case was filed against former BNP MP and Partex Group chairman MA Hashem and his four associates on charge of grabbing forest department's land.

Rajendrapur western zone forest officer FM Shahidul Haque filed the case against MA Hashem and his associates -- M Mostafa, Shafiuddin, Kamrul and Raham Ali -- with Joydevpur thana Sunday night.

In his complaint Shahidul Haq said that MA Hashem grabbed 5,300 square feet of Bahadurpur Mouza of Rajendrapur beat of Bangladesh Forest.

The Partex chairman, who is now in jail in another case, cut all the trees on the land and filled the land with earth on May 23.

Joint forces arrested the industrialist from his Mohakhali Partex office in Dhaka on May 28.
