Awami League (AL) president Sheikh Hsaina Tuesday proposed to forge South Asian Anti-terrorism Taskforce to fight against terrorism in South Asia, reports UNB.
"If voted to power, we will initiate to form a taskforce with participation of all our neighbouring countries to establish peace in South Asia", Hasina told a faction of Islami Oikyo Jote (IOJ) leaders when they met her at AL Dhanmondi office.
She said the Muslim world must take steps to curb terrorism in the name of Islam.
Hasina said if AL was voted to power, it would take step to control the price hike of essential commodities and also work for promoting education and employment through modernisation of traditional religion-based madrasah education.
She urged the Olama Mashaek for bringing to consciousness of people to resist the caricature of Islam.
"Bangladesh must recover its identity as a secular democratic state," the former prime minister said.
