Hasina, Koirala stress peace for regional dev

The Prime Ministers of Bangladesh and Nepal on Tuesday underlined maintaining peace and stability in the region. They also agreed that peace and stability are the preconditions for development. Two leaders expressed their views that the socioeconomic development could be ensured by continuation of democracy. Bangladesh Prime Minister and her Nepalese counterpart Sushil Koirala expressed this view when they held a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the third Bimstec Summit in Myanmar. PM’s Special Assistant Mahbubul Hoque Shakil briefed reporters after the meeting. Both leaders agreed that Bangladesh and Nepal could work together in hydropower, tourism and agro-processing industries, according to a news agency.
