Hasina leaves London for NY

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left London for New York after making more than a three-hour-stopover at Heathrow International Airport in the British capital. A British Airways flight carrying the Bangladesh prime minister and her entourage took off from Heathrow International Airport at 7pm (London time). Public Administration Minister and Awami League General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam, Bangabandhu's younger daughter Sheikh Rehana and Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Md Abdul Hannan saw the prime minister off at the airport. Local AL leaders, including the party’s UK chapter President Sultan Mahmud Sharif and General Secretary Syed Sajidur Rahman Faruk, were also present at the airport. Sheikh Hasina arrived in London from Dhaka in the afternoon on her way to New York to attend the 70th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the PM and her entourage landed at the Heathrow International Airport at 3.20pm (London time), according to a news agency.
