Saturday, 25 October 2014
Taking a swipe at the Prime Minister for her comment that Khaleda Zia is losing ground with her frequent movement threats, BNP spokesman Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday said Sheikh Hasina is living in the house of cards which may collapse anytime. 'You (PM) please look at yourself and think about your own fate. You're living in the house of cards which has no base… people have abandoned you,' Mirza Alamgir said while addressing a discussion arranged by Oli Ahad Smrity Sangsad at the National Press Club, marking the 2nd death anniversary of the Language Movement hero. Mentioning that Awami League had annihilated democracy in the 1975 by establishing a 1-party rule, the BNP leader said the party has started the process to kill democracy for the 2nd time. Protesting the arrest of Jubo Dal president Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal and 63 other party men, he alleged that the government has arrested them to weaken the opposition. Recalling Oli Ahad’s contributions to the nation, the BNP acting Secretary General urged the young generation to take lesson from his life, according to a news agency.
