Hasina-Modi first meeting likely on Sept 27

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi are likely to hold a meeting on the sidelines of the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on September 27 which is expected to take the bilateral ties to a newer height, according to a news agency.
The meeting will be held within a week of the third meeting of the Joint Consultative Commission (JCC) between Bangladesh and India scheduled to be held in New Delhi on September 20.
Asked about the Prime Minister-level meeting, Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque said, “Yes, the meeting is likely to be held on September 27.”  He, however, did not elaborate.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to leave here for New York on September 21 as the 69th UNGA begins on September 16.
