Hasina-Modi meeting held at PMO

The visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday afternoon. The bilateral meeting between the two leaders began at about 3:45pm at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). Modi arrived at the PMO from Sonargaon Hotel at 3.42pm. Before calling on his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina, Modi met the Chief Minister of India’s West Bengal (Pashchimbanga) state Mamata Banerjee. Mamata went to Modi’s VVIP suite at Pan Pacific Sonargaon from Banani at about 3:13pm. Modi held meeting with the Tranamool Congress leader from 3.15pm to 3.34pm. Modi then set out for the Prime Minister’s Office to a meeting with Sheikh Hasina, the first of five meetings between the two PMs during Modi’s whirlwing 35-hour Bangladesh trip, according to a news agency.
