Hasina-Modi meeting in NY

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet in New York this month during the United Nation General Assembly (UNGA). This will be the 1st meeting between Modi and Hasina after the BJP came to power in India after the Lok Sabha polls in May. Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative at the UN AKA Momen said that the two leaders will meet on September 27. ‘Preparations are afoot for the meeting. Modi is the sixth speaker while Sheikh Hasina is the eighth at the General Assembly on Sept 27. They will meet after their speeches are over,’ said Momen. Like before, Sheikh Hasina will attend a media briefing in New York, said the UN Bangladesh Mission’s First Secretary (press) Mamun-Or Rashid. Hasina is set to arrive in New York on Sept 22 to attend the 69th UNGA, according to bdnews24.com.
