Hasina opens Bibiyana gas-field extension project

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday inaugurated an extension project of Bibiyana gas-field and construction of Bibiyan-Dhanuya gas pipeline. She reached at the country’s largest gas-field in Habiganj district at 12noon. During her visit she also inaugurated an extension road connecting the gas-field with the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway and the Nabiganj Fire Service and Civil Defence Station. The PM also laid foundations stones of 2 power plants – the 400 MW  Bibiyana South Combined Cycle and the 400 MW Bibiyana-3 Combined Cycle. She also visited the 341 MW Bibiyana-2 Combined Cycle Power Plant. Hasina then headed towards Habignaj town where she will inaugurate the 300 MW Shahzibazar Combined Cycle Power Plant among a dozen of other projects. She is also expected to address a public rally at ‘New Field’ grounds in Habiganj in the afternoon, according to a news agency.
