Hasina places wreaths at Suvra Mukherjee\\\'s coffin

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid homage to Suvra Mukherje, wife of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee and a noted Rabindra Sangeet exponent, by placing wreaths at her coffin on Wednesday morning. Suvra Mukherjee passed away in New Delhi on Tuesday morning at the age of 75. Sheikh Hasina reached Delhi to meet President Pranab and expressed her condolence for the demise of his wife. A Biman flight, carrying the Bangladesh PM and her entourage, landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi around 7:15am on Wednesday. Indian external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj welcomed Hasina at the airport. Senior officials of Bangladesh High Commission to India, including high commissioner Syed Muazzem Ali were also present at that time. The PM went to Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official home of Indian President, in New Delhi, from the airport and expressed her sympathy to him. She went to 13, Talkatora Road, the residence of Mukherjee's son Abhijit Mukherjee to lay a wreath on the body. On Tuesday, President Abdul Hamid and PM Hasina mourned the death of India first lady, according to a news agency.
