Hassles in obtaining driving license

Obtaining a driving licence has become more than a formality, it is essential for personal independence, employment, and daily life. Yet, this vital service has increasingly become a source of frustration and hardship for ordinary citizens. Procedural complexities, unnecessary travel, irregularities, and the influence of broker networks make the process unnecessarily difficult. Many applicants face delays and confusion, as the routine procedure is turned into a prolonged struggle.
This situation not only inconveniences the public but also undermines the principles of good governance, transparency and justice. To restore public confidence and ensure fair service, the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) and relevant authorities must take immediate steps to simplify procedures, eliminate brokers, and enforce punctual and transparent processing.
Citizens deserve a system that respects their time, effort and rights. Addressing these issues promptly will reflect a commitment to efficiency, fairness and accountability in public service.
