Hazaribagh leather factory catches fire

A fire broke out at a leather factory in Hazaribagh area in the city on Thursday noon. Fire Services officials said the fire erupted around 12:25pm in a bathroom of 'Chowdhury Leather factory' on the fourth floor of a 5-storey building, situated in Hazaribagh tannery zone. The fire engulfed the entire floor of the building soon. On information, two fire fighting units rushed to the spot from a nearby fire station and doused the blaze after half an hour's efforts. The cause of the fire could not be known immediately. The extent of losses has not been officially assessed yet, according to UNB.
